Map of dig areas by chapter for Finding Gold in Colorado Books

To help those planning trips, this simple map shows you which areas of the state are covered in each chapter of the book Finding Gold in Colorado – Prospectors Edition. This image should print fairly well at 8×10 but be sure to set your printer to “best” print quality.

This second map includes the additional 5 chapters which were not covered at all in the Prospector’s Edition (aka Volume 1) but are included in Volume 2: The Wandering Prospector.

I hope this helps all my book owners!

Those with older copies of the Prospector’s Edition should consider printing one of these maps and adding it to your book. Be sure to print it in landscape mode on your printer so you get a nice big 8″x10″ map! If you want to know more about the Prospector’s Edition, go to my article on the book here. For more detail on the locations covered in the book, check out this book index article here. For more information on Volume 2, Finding Gold in Colorado: The Wandering Prospector, read the book article here. You’ll quickly see that you want both books!

A note for the curious: the first base map I used shows all the mining districts of Colorado. ALL of them, not just the gold districts; for example, it includes silver mining areas such as Aspen and other metals in the southern areas of the state. The second map was custom made by Laura and me to highlight the relevant roads with the idea that it would make your trip planning easier. Remember, dig sites within a chapter are generally organized from upstream to downstream.
